If you’re like Lefty and often skip breakfast, a sugary protein bar or break room treat can look awfully tempting by the time mid-morning rolls around. Steal a page from the pro golfer’s recipe book and make yourself an energy-packed coffee shake instead. Phil’s favorite smoothie couldn’t be easier to whip up. Plus it’ll keep you going strong through your AM workout, morning errands, and beyond.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of coffee ice cubes (cold brew coffee will work)
  • 1 tablespoon almond or peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of oats or protein powder
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop of the Good Stuff
  • Favorite nut or dairy milk; Phil likes ½ a cup of oat milk (Califia Farms unsweetened vanilla is our cofounder’s go-to)

Prep

Just blend well and enjoy. Pro (golfer) tip: try freezing your day’s left-over For Wellness coffee in an ice tray. Those cubes come in handy for Phil’s favorite smoothie. And when it’s time to wind down for the day, they add an extra punch to a delicious coffee cocktail!

Plain coffee in the morning can be a bit, well, plain. There are about a thousand different variations on Phil’s favorite smoothie, but for a more filling start to your day, we recommend blending this healthy treat with as a bowl. Blend with a bit less liquid, then sprinkle with unsweetened toasted coconut flakes, a handful of nuts, and some cacao nibs. Go easy on the granola – many varieties are closer to a cookie crumble than nutritious grain. You might be surprised how delicious and satisfying good choices can be.
